Let's talk Business Realtors...
Nothing is as interesting as talking about your Local Real Estate business.
The challenges that making money and paying bills on time pose are astonishing.
With everyone chasing the all mighty buck, how is it possible for an antrepreneur to get one leg up on all their competition?
What are the mistakes made most often by newly Licensed, yet still inexperienced and naive Real Estate Agents and more importantly, how do we avoid making them?
What must every Realtor prioritize if they wish to succeed in today's Local Niche Property Markets?
These are big topics... Many claim they are the biggest of subject matter possible.
Let's dive in!
Are you carefully thinking about each of your many business decisions before you decide on which path to take?
One wrong turn could set you and your real estate brand and firm back a lot in a tight niche local community scene where word-of-mouth travels fast.
Lot's of business ideas sound terrific. Many look great on paper too. But will they work?
What are the consequences if they do not?
Your reputation, your job, possibly your career is on the line! Sales, money, profit, your company's brand image all could be damaged!
Can you Laugh at Yourself and your business?
In all due respect, things happen during the business day that will run the gamet of one's emotions.
Sadness, dissapointment, elation... are all happening, sometimes oncoming at impossible speeds and overlapping.
Win a contract, lose a deal. You are pulling your hair out at every turn.
A client hangs up on you! The boss gives you a compliment. A co-worker gives you an evil stare!
Your Business is a Work-In-Progress...
Leads, Leads, LEADS…
Solve your lead generation problems and the rest of your business difficulties disappear.
You want peace-of-mind, a tranquil, less stressful, calm, not chaotic business day.
It all starts with getting Ideal Realty Clients instead of having to agree to work with any client that walks thru the door.
Let’s face it. All Realtors, me too, are desperate for new clients. Usually, we do not know where our best-fit clients are coming from.
I know you have agreed to work for a client you felt uneasy about, more than a few times in the past. We all have.
Every potential client lead is not equal. Don’t we all know that by now? I bet you could tell me some stories about the clients from hell that you wish you never met.
Well, if we throw a bunch of marketing stuff against the wall to see what sticks! How mad can we get at the quality of the leads that we acquire?
We are generally just very thankful that we got a few leads from our recent promotional efforts. At least this new marketing campaign wasn’t a complete bust.
Now we can get to work on converting these measly leads into paying clients.
“NO!”
“Stop it!”
"You do not just want leads, you want quality Business leads."
You want realty clients that want your particular realty services. You want property buyers, sellers and renters that are interested in the properties and locations and price ranges that you specialize in. You want clients whose specific problems you specialize in solving.
Deep down, you realize that your marketing is probably where all your problems start.
Your marketing is sending you the wrong people to sales pitch to. But the bills have to be paid!
Realtors all over the planet have the same bad habit of going after landing any ole lead that comes across their desk or appears mysteriously in their email inbox.
You are spending a lot of time and draining emotional energy convincing bad leads, the wrong leads, leads that you are not really sure you wish to work for, to hire you.
That is sad because you are begging for business that you do not even want.
It is time to wake up and realize that you are settling for clients that are not ideal simply because those are the only leads your pore thought out ads, same-old-same-old commercials and non-targeted PR stunts are sending you.
But the damage does not stop there. You and your clients are not going to be as satisfied as each of you would be if you were working with the right counterparts.
Your hearts are not in it.
You are a Pro Licensed Real Estate Agent so I know that if you take on a client you are going to do great work for that client. Well, at least you keep telling yourself that.
Can you really do a great job if each step of the work takes a lot longer to accomplish and is much more stressful at every turn because you agreed to do a job that is outside of your specialty?
What about your other clients, aren’t they and their projects suffering?
Chasing after any ole lead means no one knows who or what kind of business to refer to you.
So, you may have clients and you can pay the bills this month but you are not building any long-term business up.
You are not creating a fine reputation in your field for handling anything specific.
I hope you can afford to keep advertising and advertising because you have to cast a wide net to gather all different sorts of leads. You have to do a lot of fishing and buy a lot of different gear too if everything swimming in the ocean is fair game.
When you use the right bate and right gear you catch the fish you are going after.
Organization is obviously the key to all your business desires.
No more Hail Mary passes. No more throwing the football into the end zone and just hoping your receiver catches it and not someone on the other team.
You need a PLAN! A dam…GREAT PLAN!
